Colonel Potter: Looking good! Can I use it in the gallery? Do you mind sharing some details?

Canoe: Thank you. I'd be delighted to be in such esteemed company. I've really wanted to nail this one for a while and I owe it to Angelic for the find. A few months ago he recommended the Azar suit. I was skeptical at $100 shipped, but I invested another $100 in tailoring and have been very happy with it!!

    Suit: Azar
    shirt: Banana Republic
    Tie: Michael Kors
    shoes: Calvin Klein
    watch: Stuhrling diver

Received several compliments. Unfortunately the night ended with a glass of red wine hitting the shirt and tie. The suit was spared, but Ill be at the dry cleaners bright and early tomorrow!!

Thanks! And ouch about the red wine. Look on the bright side: Bond's outfit didn't exactly make it out unscathed either ... :v

For those that have a uniqlo close by, I just picked these up yesterday. Great color in person (picture doesn't do it justice) and puppy tooth pattern...best part is the fit. It mimics the SA one fit extremely well! And at 50% off if you are putting together the SPECTRE Bridge outfit this is more than worth the $20 you will spend. The stretch material is forgiving but makes this a pant that you can actually move in.

These look like a great frugal alternative David. Can't find them on the UK site it seems though, :( unless I'm missing a trick (or a click).

    They're these ones.

It's weird because the product shots (thumbnail images on the left of the screen) show the correct jeans, but it doesn't look like you can select that color from the available options. :#

Yes, a weird one that, only seem to be able to select gray, red, wine, dark brown or dark green. Thanks for locating the right product though canoe2,

I went to a wedding yesterday and tried my budget Spectre PTS outfit:

Nailed the outfit man! Looks great. I agree with canoe2 on the red wine incident; it could mean the suit is good luck, and there could be more adventures to come. Maybe next time it will be an angry ex-lover ;)

Welcome to the club armenianmovieman! Fantastic article! {[]

    Thank you both for the support and the enthusiasm! I hope you liked it and I hope you now want to buy a white henley soon. :)) :)) :)) -{ -{

I got totally swept away in the options for the rest brunello cucinelli blazer. Having learned we've learned, what is our best budget bet on that one? I'm finally ready to attempt the Morocco look.
Has their been a definitive alternative to the skyfall lodge Henley?

I just received my donegal merino basket Aran sweater for the Thomas crown alternative. The knit is spot on. I wore it today in a windy, wet 50oF. With a t shirt under.
I was half expecting it to be partially windproof. It is not.
I haven't fallen in love with it yet but I love the look and the quality is definitely there. Maybe a more still evening would have been better.

Obviously its not the exact same thing as the All Saints but I could not think of a more appropriate moment for shameless self-advertising. :)) :) :)

Just ordered a new Harrington as my old one had an accident with a stable door at the weekend :# I've gone for the onfire item as pretty much all the rest have elasticated hems any one got any experience with this item? Simply couldn't source a royale one in my size in the UK and I'm just not prepared to run to over £100 for another blue jacket that gets minimal wear, seriously I could wear a different blue jacket every day of the week!!
Armenianmovian great work on the Henley, I like the raiken ones, I also got a pretty good indigo grin n bear long sleeved ala dc othello poster.
It was either that.....or the priesthood

I stopped by TJ Maxx a few weeks ago and noticed some of those Othello Rag and Bone henleys for $49.99....... they're probably gone by now (a few weeks in fashion = months sometimes) but it's good to know they're out there!

Gustin is running one of its campaigns now for an awesome looking navy Harrington. While it is closer in design to the Barracuta G9 than it is to the SA Tom Ford, it has a slim silhouette that reminds me more of the G4 (which inspired the TF). The price is right at $119, too, although as with all things Gustin, you have to wait for the campaign to be fully backed and then WAIT AGAIN for the item to be made and shipped. It can be a while.

I was the "finder" of that jacket and have had it for a few months. Great value and you are right about it not having elasticated hems (and sleeves) which looks good. It's downsides imho are very light material (can be good depending on temperature), non-SA raglan sleeves and it being slightly baggy when not fastening the side adjusters.

Just found another black shawl collar alternative and added it to the post.

    Perry-Ellis-5-button-shawl-collar-cardigan.jpg?w=284

From Perry Ellis, currently on sale for $52.99 and there's an additional 60% off. So final price is about $22 plus $5 shipping in the U.S. Fabric is 60% cotton/40% acrylic

Germany neither. What a shame. Would even consider having it shipped over but it's not worth the risk if the fit is off.

I spoke with the CS rep before I ordered mine. He was just as confused as I was about the sizing. But the product page says a medium as a 24" chest, which is huge for that size. So I went with a small. As soon as I get it I'll let you know what's up with the fit.

Another update: lots of new options for the Islays

Thanks, much appreciated. The link to their size chart, which I think doesn't apply to that particular item at all, confused me the most. So I'll await your diligent review.

    Keep up the good work!

I tried these jeans last year and this year and they just did not work for me. Be aware that skinny means skinny. I sized up a couple sizes and still found them too skinny. Great color, but it can look like you are wearing tights if you have hips or thighs. (I'm 6'4', 188 lbs, so I am rather thin, but my legs aren't twigs.)

The reviews on Uniqlo's website indicate that in years past they were available in a slim, not skinny, cut. If only they still were.

    https://www.uniqlo.com/us/en/mens-stretch-skinny-fit-colored-jeans-172733.html

If you are looking for a better fit with a bit of "give" CT have these back on offer again, only in large sizes though (38, 40, 42)

I have a pair and they are a good fit and a good alternative for the London look.
Here they are with JV jacket, NPeal turtle neck and Church Ryder 3 boots- sorry photo is a little dark.

Llafyks, you make that outfit look so bad ass! I didn't like this outfit all that much at first, but it's slowly becoming iconic to me. Wish I had the weather to justify it though. I can't wear a turtleneck in Florida even on the closet of days.

Well, I just got my H&M BC alternative jacket in, and I've got to give a big shoutout to Criscoop for grabbing this one for me and shipping it over to the USA. Thanks man! {[]
The color is actually pretty darn SA and slightly darker than the website pic:

The quality is good for the original price, but these things are on sale in the UK right now for like £23.99 and running out fast. A few sizes left in the USA as well:

    http://www.iconicalternatives.com/2015/12/03/spectre-linen-blazer/

The jacket fits true to size and is a slim fit. The sleeves are way long for me, so I'll have to get that tailored. But, everything else is spot on. The harringbone pattern is certainly there, but it's not overwhelming and adds texture. I can't recommend it enough. Especially at the sale price. Now I just need to get that Magnoli tie when it comes out.
