Waiting Blofeld on just one movie would be a shaved. I would rather see the story line continue with better writing for the character. That would mean not bothering to mention their backstory about their childhood.

Indeed, I don't think Craig will be too old, and maybe that gap is needed to put some distance in between bond 25 and the mistakes of SP.

Food for thought: They'd need more time for back to back. So filming could conceivably still begin in early 2018.
Also gives more time to work out distribution.
