I never faltered though and in the end I made it. There was a 20 day boot camp last summer where I went (in my summer break from the para-scout training).
My training is 52 weeks now. And then I'll serve for 10 years as an active AAD10. As Switzerland is a militia the army supports me fully in finishing my bachelor at the University and I can attend university further for my Master, which will take another four years. I can wear my uniform at the University even. I'm on official army time when attempting classes.

Yes for certain criteria here tattoos are not acceptable, not the case for the sas, and some UK regiments have tattoos as a bit of a custom, one of the lancer regiments have their blood group tattood on them, which was a German army thing originally I think.

When a friends of mine did his national service in LRRP special forces unit in the mid-90's they were told not to get any tatooed or even shave their heads. I think it was partly for security reasons to hide that they were special forces, but also for their mindset. They shouldn't see themselves as Rambos.

What I meant by Conditioned to kill,is that special forces,by nature of their role in the armed forces,would sometimes have to exceed the limits of normal engagement.That is,kill persons that posed no immefiate threat to them.Take no prisoners,in a situation which might allow them to do so.In effect,a license to kill,but it requires a mental attitude that most persons lack
This mental attitude,I was reminded of in a book I read recently.The book was about the public hangman in Uk before capital punishment was abolished.Although quite a number of men were willing to do the job,I doubt the majority had the mental capacity to do so.
That reminds me of a detail in Germany,in 1946,after the trials.I ,along with a sergeant and a driver,escorted a convicted war criminal to the military prison in Hanover.The prisoner and I were in the back of a 15cwt army vehicle.I was armed with a sten sub machine gun.Before leaving the place in which the prisoner was temporily held,I was taken aside by a military police captain,and told that if the prisoner failed to arrive alive,no enquirey would be undertaken.An explanation of attempting to escape,would be sufficient.The prisoner arrived alive.

I see now what you mean. I can not say that I was conditioned to kill in my training because it was never some thing which was trained for in (I don't know the words so I hope you will understand what I am trying to say) the classroom. We were expected to kill people if we were ordered to do this or had to and I would not hesitate on this, but the training I think made us that way without realising. I do not know if it was any different to other soldiers though? Also I think a sniper has to kill people who are not threatening his life so the sniper perhaps has to be more conditioned to kill? I can only say that I would kill people without hesitating on this. I would have killed with my rifle or knife or my hands who ever this was even if they was not attacking me, perhaps that is conditioning with out me knowing, but I must also say that I am born of the warrior tribe, so this spirit is put into every boy. I do not know how much this is my background before I joined the army or how much it was army training. I do know that before I joined the army I would have killed people who threatened or tried to kill me or my family. This I never did but I would have done this.
I did fire my rifle in combat and I was trying to kill but they were trying to kill me. I also fired the mortar. I was trying to kill also then and the the people who I were shooting at (but we were a mortar crew) were no danger to me but I was still trying my best to kill them. I put the mortar rounds into the barrel so I was the one who was actually shooting.
I am quiet sure i hit people with my rifle but I don't know if they lived or died. I don't know if the people I was shooting at with the mortar were killed or not or injured. It never troubled me to think that they were killed.
